What is Centro Latino?
Centro Latino is one of the best landmarks in Zamboanga City. Actually situated inside the Paseo Del Mar Complex in Zamboanga City. It is a newly constructed edifice of the Zamboanga local government and was established on January 25, 2013, during the administration of the former Zamboanga City Mayor Celso L. Lobregat.
The two-storey multi-purpose building and exhibit center (Centro Latino) features a convention hall, an exhibit hall, a mini-theatre and a conference room primarily constructed to cater activities of the city government. However, Lobregat stressed that, the building is also available for use of the public at reasonable rates approved by the Zamboanga City council.
The multi-purpose building, Centro Latino, is a P34.63 million project that will not just cater events of the city but attracts visitors as one of the best amenities of the Paseo Del Mar Complex.
The Name Centro Latino Means
The name “Centro Latino” is basically a Spanish word adapted to Chabacano (a dialect used by the locales in Zamboanga City) which means “Latin Center.”
“Center” means “center or inside.”
“Latino” means “Latin” in English.
In other words, “Latin Center” in Zamboanga City. Why? Because of its architectural design that has the visible touch of Spanish spirit that made this edifice one of the new amazing attractions in the city.
